A building filled with character and history.
The foundation stone was laid on 17 June 1928 by Bishop Honoré Coppieters, former dean of Aalst. The church opened for worship on 10 August 1929 and was solemnly consecrated by Bishop Coppieters on 8 July 1930. On 19 July 1935, the parish was dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
After the church was deconsecrated and repurposed, ownership was officially transferred on 27 October 2020 to Bart Noël, Manu-Mail nv.
